IT Governance

The objectives of IT-governance activities are to:

  • understand the issues and strategic importance of IT;
  • ensure that the enterprise can sustain its operations; and
  • ascertain that it can implement the strategies required to extend its activities into the future.

IT-governance processes ensure that IT expectations are met, performance is measured, resources are managed and risks are mitigated. Sounds like a giant task? It can be, particularly as this is not a role owned solely by IT. It has reaches and responsibilities organisation-wide, including a number of stakeholders, such as management, end users, suppliers, customers and the public.

Help is at hand!

BB Hobbes has a great deal of experience in both reviewing current IT-governance levels and designing and implementing processes which ensure that a client has robust IT governance.

Utilising measurement tools, such as industry-renowned frameworks ITIL and CobIT, we can work with clients to define the IT process maturity of their organisation. Then we can assist in implementing standards and new working practices which will strengthen the IT governance, providing a more efficient, strategically-led IT division and greater stakeholder confidence.

Testimonial from a BB Hobbes client within the oil and gas industry

I have to thank you guys for all your hard work. We have grown from a company whose IT needs were met in a totally reactive manner, to a stable, planned, process-led IT environment. We now have total confidence in the ability of our infrastructure to support the needs of our business, now and in the future.

Better yet, the board of directors are reassured that IT is managed in a strategic, well-thought out manner and the end users are delighted that any issues they may have are dealt with in a prompt and professional way.
